Inflation in uplifted Supergravities

چکیده
We present a model of slow-roll inflation in the context of effective Supergravities arising from string theories. The uplifting of the potential (to generate dS or Minkowski vacua) is provided by the D-term associated to an anomalous U(1), in a fully consistent and gauge invariant formulation. We develop a minimal working model which incorporates eternal topological inflation and complies with observational constraints, avoiding the usual obstacles to implement successful inflation (η problem and initial condition problem among others). D-term Uplifted Racetrack Inflation
It is shown that racetrack inflation can be implemented in a moduli stabilisation scenario with a supersymmetric uplifting D-term. The resulting model is completely described by an effective supergravity theory, in contrast to the original racetrack models. We study the inflationary dynamics and show that the gaugino condensates vary during inflation. The resulting spectral index is ns ≈ 0.95 a...
متن کاملSupergravity, M theory and Cosmology
We discuss some recent attempts to reconcile cosmology with supergravity and M/string theory. First of all, we point out that in extended supergravities the scalar masses are quantized in terms of the cosmological constant in de Sitter vacua: the eigenvalues of the Casimir operator 3m/Λ take integer values. For the current value of the cosmological constant extended supergravities predict ultra...
متن کاملAxion Inflation and Gravity Waves in String Theory
The majority of models of inflation in string theory predict an absence of measurable gravitational waves, r << 10−3. The most promising proposals for making string theoretic models that yield measurable tensor fluctuations involve axion fields with slightly broken shift symmetry. We consider such models in detail, with a particular focus on the N-flation scenario and on axion valley/natural in...
متن کاملCreation of matter in the universe and groups of type E 7
We relate the mechanism of matter creation in the universe after inflation to a simple and universal mathematical property of extended N > 1 supergravities and related compactifications of superstring theory. We show that in all such models, the inflaton field may decay into vector fields due to a nonminimal scalar-vector coupling. This coupling is compulsory for all scalars except N = 2 hypers...
متن کاملWEAKLY-coupled IIA Flux Compactifications
We study compactifications of type IIA string theory on Calabi-Yau manifolds that are mirror to a subset of the type IIB LARGE-volume models. A combination of flux, α corrections and non-perturbative effects stabilises the moduli in a non-supersymmetric AdS vacuum. This vacuum has the feature that the (ten-dimensional) string coupling is exponentially small which can naturally lead to a TeV sup...
